We’re excited to be renewing our memberships in both the Newington and Middlesex Chambers this year.

Both organizations have provided us with opportunities to connect to so many local businesses and introduced us to so many new clients, that we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to re-up.

With so many town and regional chambers of commerce in the state of Connecticut, it was difficult to select which ones to join at first. We wish we could join them all, but at this young stage in our corporate life we have to be very selective. As we grow, I’m sure we’ll consider joining more organizations like these.

Newington Chamber of CommerceWhy Newington?

While we are located in Wethersfield, we are on the Newington border and have done business with many of the Newington Chamber‘s members over the years. Our roots are in Newington, and their chamber has an active business community with a ton of networking opportunities – from weekly a.m. coffee meetings to frequent business after hours events in the evening. We also wanted to be involved in the annual Home and Business Showcase held at Newington High School each spring. Newington’s chamber has become very active over the past year and it is exciting to be a part of the business community’s growth.

Middlesex Chamber of CommerceWhy Middlesex?

The larger Middlesex Chamber is also quite active, and they also host an annual showcase, but their event is strictly for businesses (which is great for us!) They call Connecticut Connections “Middlesex County’s Premier Business EXPO”, but to be honest, it’s one of only two or maybe three pure business-to-business expo’s in the state, and it’s the closest one to our location. Being a part of that event was a major driver in our decision to join the Middlesex Chamber in 2018, and the connections we’ve made are the reason we’ve remained active.

Another factor we considered in joining the Middlesex Chamber was the fact that they cover towns that we do a lot of business in for the boating community, including Westbrook and Essex. Our sister company, Boat Name Gear, is a large provider of personalized boating products and has many clients along the shoreline.

If you’re considering joining a chamber of commerce in Connecticut and want to chat with a company that has looked into many of them, or if you have any questions, feel free to reach out at any time! We’d love to connect.
